M. is officially ready, willing, and legal to drive a motor vehicle with an adult as the co-pilot. He had his first two-hour session with his driving instructor, Paul, yesterday afternoon. The learner's permit is signed, so it's valid.
Paul is a retired CHP officer who must enjoy the thrill of riding with inexperienced drivers. Wheeee! Paul has a great sense of humor and is quite entertaining. I think he will teach our teen driver a thing or two, and he might even e-x-p-a-n-d our son's vocabulary a bit. :-) M. will have another two-hour driving session after he completes twenty hours behind the wheel. The driver's ed. car had 57 miles on the odometer, so M. is getting trained to drive in a brand new vehicle.
Just to make certain that I completely embarrassed my son, I took pictures upon their return to preserve the memory. It was a Kodak moment, for sure. As you can see in the photo, the student & his instructor hit it off really well.
Now would be a good time to pray for us...
