A Stumble, a Fumble, and a Tumble

A perfectly good "tall, decaf., extra-hot, skinny mocha" splashed everywhere when I stumbled and lost my footing, fumbled my coffee, then tumbled. I skidded (literally) across the pavement, but I was able to pick myself up before any cars ran me over. Whew!
I knew I was banged and bruised; however, it wasn't until 24 hours later that I learned that my misstep resulted in a greater tuberosity fracture. Oh, my! I am now sporting a stylish (goes with everything!) black sling that immobilizes my shoulder and arm. Thankfully, the orthopedic surgeon says that surgery is not required, but PT will be needed to get my rotator cuff back in business, once I have healed.

Now, isn't that a lovely picture of my shoulder?

I'm thankful for Vicodin and lots of pillows to help me sleep upright. And I've been blessed with lots of help from family and friends. I'm on the mend!

As I sat down to type this one-handed entry, I suddenly realized that I had tooooo many options for the title of this blog post. Bad puns are my specialty. I may have a broken humerus, but since it's not my funny bone, I still have a sense o' humor. I think!

Consider the following offerings:

Have a nice trip. See you in the fall.
Coffee break
I took a spill -- literally and figuratively speaking
The gravity of the situation
No need to cry over spilled mocha
My one great downfall
Falling slowly
Sticks and stones (and speed bumps) may break my bones...
I've fallen and I can't get up.
A fractured humerus ain't so funny after all
Speed bumps and bruises

And of course, I could have paid homage to the 1980s rapper Curtis Blow by using a few lines from his song:
Well, these are the breaks
Break it up, break it up, break it up!
Break down!

(Does ANYONE even remember that one?)
