M. enjoyed a day trip to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, during his recent visit to AZ. It's easy to get INTO Mexico, as they do not check identification to get across the border. It's getting back into the US that requires one to have the proper paperwork. Since M. is a minor, he only needed his driver's license & a copy of his birth certificate -- and he needed to be traveling with an adult who had a current passport. (UJ and Robin provided the proper credentials on that one.)
M's travel pics tell the tale of his Mexican adventures:
"On the border"
Look at the total of the bill for brunch -- $705.27?!!! I knew that my boy could eat a lot of food, but that's a bit much. (Wait! That's pesos, not US dollars... FYI, $705 MXN= approx. $54USD)
Mexican mall? Where's Nordies?!!!!
(This doesn't look much like shopping in Roseville, does it?)
My son got a few lessons in the art of negotiating on price, thanks to Robin's shrewd skills in this area. Despite the fact that the shop keeper supposedly "didn't make any money on the transaction," he is all smiles as he posed with the two savvy shoppers.
